I started my website in August 2004. I searched for possibilities to make my site known so that it would attract as much interested viewers as possible.
Getting listed in the DMOZ open directory and in Google directories seemed a reasonable objective, and I still think it is.
However, getting listed seems virtually impossible. I wait to get listed for both Google and the Open Directory. This is even more disappointingly if you consider that most listed sites in the appropriate category are never updated or refer to links that are not active anymore.
My site is regularly updated so what seem more reasonable than the receive a listing.
I have asked several times about the status of my submission here in this forum - I understand these kind of questions about status are not accepted anymore!! The answers were always alike and I do understand the hugeness and complexity of this project very well.
It is just that this project is not fulfilling my objectives apparently, and these are to get my site known and visited. I am happy that since the launch, my site has received satisfactory attention from interested visitors and from fans of Vanessa-Mae and that the up-to-date contents are much appreciated as valuable information for all interested in Vanessa-Mae.
So, I give up to ever get listed here!
