hi all,

i wanted to share with you something i know for quite a long time regarding seo and dmoz - dmoz is completely unnecessary for you search engine ranking. dmoz pagerank is down from 9 to 8 and this is only a sign. since dmoz doesn't reflect the majority of the quality websites, i believe that the decision makers in google are beginning to understand that relying on dmoz is not for the benefit of the public.

for the last 3 years i have tried to submit my website with no success.
i thought to my self that once listed in dmoz, my seo work is complete and no more hard work. this approach is the one that eventually caused me agony.

my website compete with several dozens, and i couldn't understand why most of them, which are far behind my website in content and quality, are listed and mine isn't.

it took me sometime to "abandon" my dmoz ambitions and start a real seo work. and i managed to place my website at the top of all the major search engines not in a single search term, but in several.

to succeed in your website ranking without a dmoz submission do the following:

**** censored: discussions/tips of how to SEO your site are not allowed ****

there are many other tips that can help, but these are the most important.
do what i told you and the change will come in a couple of weeks.

best regards,

There's a much less wordy way of saying that:

dmoz.org is not, has never been and was never intended to be a SEO tool.

DMOZ editors have been saying it for years.
