Dmoz banned?

I had dmoz on couple websites. It was getting spidered pretty well nad everything was ok, till one day.
It was showing main page, but stopped loading subpages. I didn't change anything, my admin neither.
When you were trying to access the category page it was just loading it over and over. My admin said that it was creating a php loop.
It stopped working simultanously on 6 pages (the same IP)

We didn't change anything so I think it must be external cause.
Do you think that my IP was banned for generating too much traffic?

Any ideas ? Any brilliant solutions?

Your statements make little sense. You mean you had several web sites listed in DMOZ? Which category page are you talking about? URL for that category?
And what is the URL of your web site?

Tojan3, If I understand you correctly you have a php-script on your site that is loading content from DMOZ pages.
If this php-script is causing you errors you will have to contact the person that wrote this script.

Sounds like you ISP did something. I had a simmilar problems with my ISP, they changed the rights for what you could do with PHP and when it no longer could read in data using fopen() it couldn't work any more. Check if your isp have done something so fopen don't work any more or write a short test script.

I'vesorted it some time ago. My site was using php and when my ip was banned (or whatever) the script stopped working, but still trying to load the conent.
It was generating considerable serverload. My hosting admin was furious.
I've found solution for this problem. Instead of using odp data Im using data from odp mirror in Switzerland. So instead of using odp.org, Im using ch.odp.org.
Everything works fine and IM glad, I've finally got my script working again.

Liftarn, Im no php expert, but we are probably talking about the same thing.

I am sure that could be a problem, but it is always good to try to cache odp data so you can reduce the amount of traffic you are using. Some of the more popular scripts like phpODP have this feature.

Notice: The script mentioned above is not supported by the ODP. Use at your own risk.
