Dmoz category deletion in Google

Hi all,

Bit baffled by this one  and I have just been sitting on it for a couple of weeks to see if the :warning: :warning: would just re-appear again but it looks like its been dropped by Google!

Category in DMOZ is currently:

http://dmoz.org/World/Deutsch/Freizeit/Reisen/Nach_Aktivit%e4ten/Sprachreisen/Englisch/Malta/

and the category in Google Directory:

http://directory.google.com/Top/World/Deutsch/Freizeit/Reisen/Spezialreisen/Sprachreisen/Englisch/Malta/?il=1

As you can see its gone and no longer listed on the Google directory.

Are Google filtering Dmoz listings? Has the category been relabelled and/or moved? Does anyone know if I have to re-submit and if so how can I do that if the whole category for 'Sprachreisen' has been deleted on the Google Directory yet it seems fine directly in Dmoz

I would greatly appreciate some advice if anyone is in the know.

Did you notice that the categories you compare have different names?

Googles version of the ODP is a bit outdated, you will have to wait until they do their next update to see the changes we did to the ODP appear at Google.

[Edit: The link uzs980 provided is not working all the times. Looks like Google has different public directory servers which are not fully synchronized]

Depending on where you look there are two versions of the Directory at Google. You have to look directly at the different datacentres to see what is what. Start at directory-fi.google.com and then look at -in, -va, -ab, -dc, -cw, -ex, -zu, -sj, -lm, -mc, -kr, -gv, some of which have the old, some the new, and some have no directory at all. They are in the midle of changing things over, and the datacentres have each flipped between old and new (sometimes back again) since 2003-11-02.
