In my referrer logs, I see several entries like:

Code:
http://editors.dmoz.org/editors/editcat-unrev.cgi?cat=abcdefg...

This was several days ago. I checked the directories where I submitted, but my submissions don't appear. Does this mean they were rejected, or does it take more time?

It could mean so many different things, it's takes too much time to explain, and even if I did, you'd have to guess which one of the many things had happened, and none of them would tell you anything about the status of your site, reviewed, accepted, rejected. Doesn't even tell you if your site in in the unreviewed heap, so my suggestion for everone, is to ignore referrer logs for this.

Could be rejection, could be needing more time, could be something else. It only means the site was looked at, nothing more. It doesn't even mean the editor MEANT to make a decision. You could have checked the directory specified in the "cat=" parameter: if they were listed the MOST LIKELY place for them to be listed is there. But the editor could have made no decision, or simply moved the listing to another category, or simply cleaned the lint out of the description, or fixed the URL or ... you, know, any kind of editing activity.

But at a guess, I'd say 60+% of the time it means site rejection. Of course, 99% of the time it happens right after you asked for a status in this forum it means ... someone checked the site status, and for their own edification double-checked the site itself before reporting that status.
