I came across that post yesterday and I was very happy to see a quick reply to that. It's unfortunate that it was exposed in what seemed to be a negative light/tone because I'm sure those are very isolated cases.

I don't care about tone one way or another: I focus on the information. And useful information is always good. The usual spammeister-troll would be something like "Most ODP editors are using their profiles for hidden link spam, and I know who it is but I ain't tellin' nobody nothin'. Isn't the ODP evil, and aren't I noble for exposing it?" No information, of course, just the sort of sleazy sanctimoniousness that can only come from a truly venal creature.

In contrast, real information is always welcome, and I'll cut a lot of slack on tone for anyone who has a clue and a bucket to carry it in -- and is willing to share.

I am still confused that the screen captures on that site don't actually show any spam?

I would agree.

OK I see the spam in the source code if I scroll a few hundred metres to the right....

Well done to whoever spotted that.

I guess they never heard that the search engines don't like junk that's hidden faaaaaaar off screen, especially Google.
