Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.

If you've suggested it to the wrong category, we'll move it at evaluation time.

No editor can possibly know whether it's the right category without reviewing the site. And then ... if it is NOT the right category, we can just move it to the right category.

It would be a cruel waste of time to tell you it was the wrong category and wait for YOU to fix the problem, when we could just fix the problem ourselves. So we don't say anything, we just fix it.

For practical purposes, you should always assume your website will NOT be listed in the ODP--not EVER.

Why?

If your website is not listed, you will be right.

And even if your website IS listed eventually, you will still be right!

Because if the ODP listing comes, but doesn't help your business -- you will find out that you SHOULD have been working as if it would never come, because for practical purposes it doesn't matter.

And even if the ODP listing does come, and it DOES help your business promotion, everything you do to build your business by yourself (not counting on help from the ODP) will still build your business even if you do have that help.
