Does affiliate content spoil the whole site?

Hello,

I am looking for an advise if I could ever be included with www.amsterdam.info.

I have an affiliate content on hotels, which is one section of the entire web site. I have been reading about some rule of thumb, that some affiliate content may be accepted when there is a enough authentic content (you may see in sitemap). Is this content forever prevented from being listed in DMOZ because of the affiliate hotel listing?

Thank you,
Ondrej

You inquired about the site in this thread and received an answer from several editors.

I think it would be wise for you to follow the implicit advice in the post by meta editor hutcheson, and concentrate on other ways of promoting your site.

Please note that there is a huge difference between: "Your site contains a lot of useful original content, so we won't mind the occasional affiliate link" and: "Your site contains so many affiliate links that you will need to add some more filler content before we can list it".

I'm sure most spa..., eh, submitters would like us to take the second approach; but the editors are, alas, deeply and truly (perhaps madly) committed to the first.

I have always wanted to quote myself, so here goes:

time to move on, as far as this site is concerned

Thank you.

Dear Marcel,

Thank you for all your time. Finally I see, I did a huge mistake with filling my web site with this affiliate hotels. Next time I will think twice. Thanks again, it really helps. Ondrej
