Does it help to keep resubmitting a site?

I, as many others on this forum, have submitted sites that we think are valid, but are not getting listed. I was just wondering if it would help at all to keep reposting my site suggestion? I think I definitely have the right category, but maybe I need to try different site descriptions or other variation...

Thanks,

Do you mean suggesting the same site multiple times? That's not good... Please, just once to the right category - if the site is listable it will eventually be listed.
Due to the hobbyist nature of the ODP, the delays are variable, ranging from the negative (in the sense of a site listed before getting suggested) to years (particularly in heavily spammed or otherwise difficult to edit sections).

Got it, thanks. Will not repost then... does there exist the possibility of no editors being assigned to my category? My category is fairly small and in spanish, so it does not have a lot of movement. Could the editor for the category have died and never been replaced? Is that a real possibility? Just curious :)

There are a couple of hundred editors who have directory-wide editing permissions, so no category is abandoned; but obviously some areas are quieter than others...
Ever thought of becoming an editor? ;)
(btw, due to a bug, the "last edited" date is frequently wrong)

Today I resubmitted 2 of my sites that have not been posted on the directory, despite my submissions having been made months ago. My question is, will a rewording of the description help? I reread the rules and I might have erred in that my text might have seemed like promotional text.

I reworded and now hoping for the best, I am hoping that my new submission will not be influenced by my previous one, I really tried to not to include our marketing keywords.

Because my category is Nicaragua commerce, my main concern is that there are no editors in the section. Is it a sure thing that someone will eventually get to it, even if it takes a couple of months or years?

Thanks,

Some volunteer will process your listing suggestions in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your websitse and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.

I've merged today's thread with your similar (and answered) thread from September. Please don't open multiple threads on the same topic. Thanks.

Dear editors, thanks for your attention and time! :)
We have two questions here,
1/ We submitted our site to a category months ago. What should we do if we find a category that fit our site best?
Just re-submit and let it replace last one?

2/ Some categories seem have no update for long period, this means if we submit site to such category,we will face long long wait to get approval?
For example:
Top: Business: Consumer Goods and Services: Home and Garden: Lawn and Garden: Tools and Equipment (95)
Last update: Saturday, August 29, 2009 9:15:11 AM EDT - edit

1) We move mis-suggested sites to better categories as a matter of routine. I'd point out that the instructions asked you to be sure to find the most appropriate category before suggesting your website.

2) If you deliberately suggest your website to an incorrect category just because there's a named editor there, this is what happens. The editor will notice it in time and pass it along to the correct category for further evaluation. In effect, your strategy slows things down and wastes our scarce resources - probably not what you intend.

In short, you've done enough already so please do no more.
