If you believe anonymous websites, then sure -- paying is the way to go.

Please pay him to get your site listed, then send me a PM regarding your experiences and how happy you were with his service. [And if you want a genuine Rolex watch for $50 - I have some]

To further add to your confusion, ponder this:

The six month rule has absolutely nothing to do with getting listed, it is simply a device to keep the more anal webmasters from asking for status checks every two hours.

My genuine Rolax watches are only $49.95 and I list sites for $0.00 + 17.5% tax, all currencies accepted, money back if I fail to deliver on the listing within 5 years. ;)

I was curious about that fella

I wasn't too sure what to think of that guy who said you have to pay to get into the proverbial dmoz but thought I would list his link to see if others out there knew who he is. In any case, I was perplexed I will patiently continue to wait for my listing to fall in line, if it hasn't already.

It would be nieve to say there have not been editors who asked for money, but I think they were more subtle about it. Eventually however, they get found out, and terminated, and sad to say, site owners that paid lost their listings.
