Does the ODP have webstats?

I was curious if statistics are kept by the ODP for the number of 'hits" to each of the catagories and sub-catagories; and if so, are they available to the public? Would they help a submitter that has multiple products or services, determine the most useful catagory to submit to, or would it just result in the spammers overloading the most popular catagories? Are they used by ODP to add or change catagories? It's OK if you "can't say".

Really, no, we don't -- most hits are to licensee's categories, not dmoz.org, and thus completely out of our reach. Google probably gets the most (even more than dmoz.org), but AOL represents a different population and (I'd guess) distinctly different statistics)

Such as they are, dmoz.org statistics are not available to the public.

No, they could not possibly help anyone (editors or submitters) to determine the appropriate category for a site -- and we recognize no meaning of "most useful" except "most appropriate".

Yes, it would surely result in even more idiotic behavior by stupid spammers. This answer, I admit, is only my opinion, but I've never seen a bit of irrelevant information that isn't systematically abused as excuse for idiotic behavior. There are some things we don't tell people any more because they were ONLY so abused: even editor names on categories are watched goggle-eyed (like tea leaves in a blender) even by some of the wannabe-helpful submitters.

No, they are not available even to editors: and thus don't affect how we add or change categories.
