Domain Change and Company Name Update

Dear Editors,

I have a listing in DMOZ but I recently changed my domain name and rebuilt my site.

About a month ago, I tried to request the URL change and the company name update (I now work for a different company) through the Directory's Update tool. I'm not sure if I did it the correct way though!

The listed domain is sdrem.com (Short for San Diego Real Estate Mortgage) but I kept getting emails from people looking for computer memory ( getting confused with SDRAM?) I have now changed my site's address to www.allsandiegocondos.com

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,
George

You cannot request changes in this forum, there's no reason to try, because the system has such an efficient way to handle them over at dmoz.org. Put in an "update URL" suggestion. (But before that, make sure the editor can go to the OLD URL and verify that the NEW URL is correct: we do not and will not assume that suggestions are from webmasters.)

It sounds like you have already submitted an update request, so that part is done.

As Hutcheson says, as long as the reviewing editor can see that the old site points to the new in some way, there will be no issue.

Thank you so much for the quick reply!

The reason I posted wasn't to request an update through the forum, but I'm not sure if I completed the request through the Directory's Update Tool and I imagine that editors could see if the request was made! I don't in any way want to make a dublicate request!

Thank you again for your reply and have a great day!
