Hi there,
Our site has been live now for over 18 months and I have submitted to DMOZ just twice. I can confirm that we don’t appear in the directory, well not yet anyway! but we now appear on the first page in Google UK for a couple of our keywords (out of 3,930,000). So it does appear that inclusion here is not critical for a good listing. All you need is a good site and to give it time.
