Hi. I'm not sure of the difference between this:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Oceania/Au.../Business_and_Economy/Computers_and_Internet/

and this:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Oceania/Au.../Business_and_Economy/Computers_and_Internet/

Aren't these just the same things, only expressed differently? Anyway, the point here is that the bottom one contains sites, the other doesn't, and it's the one that doesn't that turns up in a google directory link in a google search.

I guess you can have more than one locality in a municipality, yet it is the municipality that turns up in a google search, which contains no sites as it links to localities (eg computers manly). Why is this??

Thanks for reading.

Nicholas.

Exactly. The Municipality has 6 Localities, and a site is only listed under the Municipality if it is a business with a location in more than one Locality in the Municipality, or has information about the municipality as a whole.

You'll have to ask Google why the municipality shows up in a Google search. We don't know.

thanks for the reply. My business is aimed at the municipality as this is my target base, and my "shop" is a web site because I have no retail or commercial office presence, so the municipality is my locale. Should I also re-submit and get listed for the municipality as well?

OK, no INFORMATION ABOUT the municipality as a whole -- check.
No multiple physical LOCATION IN the municipality -- check.

Applying the guideline is left as an exercise to the reader.
