I have a website about biographies http://www.ebiog.com


but when i submit my website in Dmoz

I can't put it in the Reference -> Biography Category


What is the solution? Please Any Help.

Although Hutcheson might be right if your question was "why is my site not listed yet" I think you wanted to ask something different. "Why can I not suggest a site in this category". Some categories are defined as not accepting suggestions at all. You should pick one of the categories under the alphabet-bar or linked under "see also".

But before you suggest the site. Reread Hutcheson's reply. Is your content unique or is it just copied from other sites?

How does this system know is my website is not Unique Content before i submit my site??? and don't allow me to suggest to the current Category (Biography)


My web site is portal for all biographical issues.So the content may not be fully unique and has not sub-category , it just biography category not other.

help me :(

The system does not know. Only you can know if you have unique content. We just don't accept suggestions in that category. Suggest your site in one of the other categories as I described. You can add a comment between [ ] stating that you think it should be listed in the maincatageory. But an editor will decide if we will list it there.

The content is either unique or it is not. If it is not your own content but copied from other sources don't suggest the site.

Ok , if my website depends on other websites and had the permissions


The idea of my website is collecting data from other :confused:


What is the solution? may be tell me Who the editor of biography section and his email to talk with him about my problem???

And that's fine. We won't tell you how to run your website.

The idea of the ODP is to categorize sites with unique content. I'm sure you can see how the idea behind your site, and the idea behind ours don't match. Please note, I have not actually looked at your site, I am simply responding to your description of it.

But I see websites you are categorized on this section and they had no unique content.


you see there are some contents would not be a unique


and I would be happier when my website is listed :D

The system does not know, it will wait till an editor looks at it, if he then finds out you have been copying from other sites [ such as Wikipedia and have violated their copyright], it will get deleted from the review pile.
