Editor Application Status (travlur)

Travlur

I applied over Christmas, and got a "Although we would like you to join us as a volunteer editor, you have chosen a category that is already well represented, or is broader than we typically assign to a new editor. We would encourage you to re-apply for a category that has fewer editors or is smaller in scope, in order to increase your chances of being accepted.".

Went down one level, got the same message. Went down again another level (could go no further), got nothing!

I emailed twice, and never got a reply.

Was I lost or ignored?

If you applied under the editor name "travlur", there is no application pending under that name

Hi

Thanks, I am not being funny, but this is not the first time this has happened. I can send you the emails I received from you, including a confirmation of the last application.

I would *really* like to be an editor (especially as the category has been empty for so long), but really do not want to keep submitting and nothing happen.

Would you like these emails from dmoz to try and track down the problem? I just am not prepared to reapply yet again. I put a lot of time and effort into my last applications, and they just got lost. I emailed dmoz and got not reply. I hope you see how disheartening, even insulting this is. Especially as I received emails from you saying you would like me as an editor and to submit again to lower categories.

Please let me know. I saved the application on Word last time I did it, and am happy to email you this. But I really have no confidence now in the form or emailing dmoz.

I suppose you wrote to staff@dmoz.org . Kindly note, if that is the case, that a lot of mail goes to that address. You can of course send details of your latest application to me: http://dmoz.org/cgi-bin/send.cgi?toeditor=tuisp. Please keep in mind, though, that I'm not the person who processed it, that denied applications are not archived, and that I won't be able to do more than try to give you advice on how to apply again.

OK, thanks tuisp

But surely they should have replied after all that saying "no thanks" right? And why say they wanted me in the first place?
