Editor application

Hi,
I'v submitted my application as an editor in May under the category
http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Greece/Prefectures/Cyclades/Mykonos/
It'll be nice if anyone would let me know if its accepted or rejected because I haven't got any email yet

I think my working experiences can help justify a website for applying under this category since most of my clients are from Mykonos.

3 months is a long time to be waiting, but you say >> I haven't got any email yet <<. Did you even get the 'Please reply to this confirm your email address?' mail? If that isn't responded to, your editor application doesn't even reach the 'human reviewers' (the 'meta editors').
 

Yes, I have got the response where it said:
"Thanks for applying to become an editor!
You will receive a reply as soon as your application has been reviewed."
But that was it.

I would appreciate some help.

I noted in a previous thread that one of the metas (who review editor applications) was mentioning that they normally look at applications in their field of expertise. As I have experienced the same as you in Regional, and, I believe, others have as well, it may be that the meta looking at applications in that area does not send email responses. Judging from the posts here, most do send responses but they are not obliged to do so.

A form letter is nearly always sent whenever an application is processed (not viewed, _processed_). It is up to the individual meta whether they wish to include additional comments, which are appended to the form letter.

That said, usually after this length of time has passed it's recommended to reapply. There are currently no applications pending for Mykonos.
 

Okey, I have just reapplied and hopefully this time it won't be another 3 months - waiting for an answer.

Did you apply for the entire Mykonos category? If so, that was a bad idea because generally we only grant categories to brand new editors if they have less than 50 sites. Mykonos has 100 sites.

I'd suggest applying for a subcategory, then, once you have proved yourself as a capable editor, apply for the whole Mykonos category.
