Editors Visited My Site but then nothing...

I searched FAQs and this forum but can't seem to find anything about this.

I submitted my site over a year ago. I have google analytics set up on my site and this month on 2 separate occasions I see that editors from DMOZ have visited.

Does this possibly mean I was snubbed by DMOZ and they won't list my site?

Opinion on whether I should resubmit.

I know I submitted to the correct category because I'm a gift basket company and that's pretty straightforward.

Has anyone else experienced this. Thanks (and Happy Holidays)

ODP editors and robots visit websites for lots of reasons. You can't deduce anything from seeing a dmoz.org referrer in your logs. Further, many of us surf with referrers disabled so you might be getting even more dmoz.org hits than you thought :).

If your website is listable (you can check for this here) it'll be listed in time but we can't predict when that might be. If it isn't, it won't be.

Either way, there's no point in suggesting your website again.

Thanks so much for the explanation. It seemed odd and I wasn't sure if I should resubmit. I'll just go away now and if it get listed or not so be it...

Wishing you a Happy and safe 2009.

Bye for Now.

If the editor snubbed your site, then ... you wasted his time with the original suggestion. Please don't compound the insult by wasting another editor's time with another suggestion.

If the editor didn't snub your site, then ... you're only wasting your own time by another suggestion.

In other words, no matter what the answer to your question, the proper action is the same.

That's one reason why there's no mechanism to get an answer to questions like that. The answer is always meaningless because it has no practical effect on your actions.
