ODP editor

Hello all, I would like to congratulate ODP on an excellent job. I just made my first submission of my personal site, and I am willing to join the editor team. I have a quick editor app. question related to the recommend 3 sites area. Is there access available to submitted sites not yet included in the directory to choose from? If no, posting a list of sites submitted, but not yet accepted is a suggestion worth considering. That way editor applicants are pre-screening site submissions with their recommendations.Eric Bland

But we want you to demonstrate your ability to go out and find useful sites that should be included. If we gave you a list of sites to choose from, that wouldn't show it. There's much more to being an editor than reviewing submitted sites.

If the sites are not already listed in the directory then they are fair game for the application regardless of whether they are waiting to be reviewed.

ODP editor

Understood, research ability is definitely a relevant key factor. I was curious whether ODP listed sites not submitted. I finished my app, but it did not cycle through stating- not accepting new editors for this category-[Computers: Internet: Web Design and Development: Designers: Freelance: B] Could you assist me in finding a likely category for my app. to cycle through as a new editor. As I understand it, "B" is too large for a new editor. You might try a less popular letter. (The new editor guidelines suggest a category with 50-100 sites listed.)

Of course, I don't make the decisions, and it might be that none of these letters would be considered appropriate for a new editor.
