error on submission in some cats, not in others?

Hello,
This is my first time here, so I hope I'm posting in the correct category.

I've experienced some strange behavior lately when submitting sites. [edited] I receive a "Page not Found" or 505 Error every time. I tried all day yesterday to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions?

I know site submission has been generally bad lately :-(

That may well be the case. I assume that the system needs more time to put a submission into a category where lots are already waiting - since it crosschecks if the submission is already there.

Remember it was never made for the amounts of traffic, that DMOZ receives today. (What's why we need and get an upgrade right now)

From the editor side, I have the impression (which I cannot back up with hard statistics) that immediately after an internal server error, the chances of successfully retrying that same operation successfully is lower than the chances of successfully trying some OTHER editing operation.

So there may be something to this. Or maybe not.

Caveat: I don't "feel YOUR pain" -- but, trust me, I'm feeling some of my own.

It's a fluke. Don't count on this happening consistently.
