Failed updating site www.nextdaypets.com

Did it happen only once?

I don't know what happened. It sounds like you were doing it properly, and I can't see why you would get a 'Bad Category' error at that point.

I suggest you try again. If the same thing happens post here and maybe someone will figure it out, but it sounds like a fluke to me.

May have been a case of bad timing. It looks like http://www.nextdaypets.com/ was moved to http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Pets/Dogs/ on June 22nd so when you submitted the update request to the Pets category it wasn't actually there. There is usually a lag between the public pages and the internal pages so you wouldn't have known that it had been moved. Try it again in the Dogs subcategory :)

Thank you for your attention. I just tried updating it and it said the update was successful.

I believe it was just bad timing/coincidence that the site was being moved to a different directory when I tried to update the listing. Thanks again. :)

Actually, the two events are unrelated. The site was moved to the Dogs category after you posted here.

Well then, it must have been the proverbial computer glitch.
