After applying to become an editor, I have been reading up and trying to learn as much as possible about becoming a good ODP editor.
On my search I came across a site entered twice (Second redirected)

The site is located 3rd and 4th at:
http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Society_and_Culture/Volunteering/
Listed under:
Community Service Volunteers - Charity dedicated to giving everyone the chance to play an active part in their community through volunteering, training, education and the media.

And:

CSV Environment - Offers people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to get involved in local environmental projects. Most of the projects are based in Birmingham and Bristol.

Just asking to confirm my understanding of the rules.

Ignoring the listings for a moment, what part of the rules is confusing you?

In my hope to become an editor, I am currently reading as much as possible.
I was just wondering about the inclution of the two sites and if this was allowed.

Reading is good. Thinking is good. Both together is best.

(1) How would including both of these URLs in the ODP help the surfer? (there needs to be a reason!)

and

(2) Would including both of these URLs make the editor's job significantly harder? (if so, we might reconsider whether that was the kind of help we wanted to spend our time providing to that surfer...)

So ... what are the rules going to HAVE to say about situations like this?

Ah, how things change ... You aren't allowed to ask questions like this any more (well, not in this forum, anyway). You are expected to answer them. You can't complain about problems any more. You just get to fix them. It's harder work that way, but (I think) MUCH more satisfying.

Enjoy.

Ah but.........

Ah but when I asked the question I was not an editor lol.

Now I have to really start learning/reading/asking. Still it's great to be part of the team.

There is an internal forum where newbies can ask questions and be assured of help. No question is considered too stupid, but it is expected that you have a quick look around to see if the topic has already been discussed.
