I have a film prop company that specializes in Police and Military props which includes dummy guns. We also are licensed for pyro FX.

The automated features of the "suggest URL" will not allow me to submit my site. I assume this is because of the words that describe weapons and pyrotechnics.

How do I submit it to an editor so that it can be evaluated as a legitimate Film Production business and not a site advocating something bad?

Is there a "suggest a url" link on the category page you are trying to suggest your site to?

Looking at your site, it looks to belong in http://dmoz.org/Business/Arts_and_Entertainment/Tools_and_Equipment/Props/Weapons/ which does allow the suggesting of new sites. It does look like the directory is having a bit of a problem with their servers at the moment. (I am getting a: The server at dmoz.org is taking too long to respond. error.) If this is what you are experiencing, you may want to try again at a later time.

I'm not aware that we have a vocabulary checker seeking forbidden words. The machinery does perform other checks though. Are you sure that you adhered to the form's instructions about the description? They say
Keep the description of your site brief - no longer than 25-30 words. A well-written, objective description will make listing your site easier.

* Do not use any HTML tags
* Write in complete sentences and/or descriptive phrases using proper grammar, punctuation and correct spelling.
o Do not use ALLCAPS in your description.
o Avoid capitalizing every word in a sentence.
o Don't repeat the title of your site in the description.
* Avoid using promotional language and strings of key words and search terms. Words and phrases like "cool" and "best darn site" will be removed.
It's always a good idea to start a sentence with a capital letter for example.
