Not that having a site inclusion take a long time is any surprise, but it just occurred to me that I don't know for sure that the ODP isn't using some proprietary browser to view sites or some other method that might cause a problem with flash based sites.

The site in question that has not been approved yet is 80% designed in Flex with only the forums and wiki available in HTML. Is there any chance that this is disrupting the ability of this site to be listed?

We are working on an HTML version of the site too BTW, but the site is quite complex and it will be at least another three months of development before we are able to mirror all the data.

Many, but not all, editors use Firefox, Mozilla or Opera.
Some use Internet Explorer.
Some use Safari.
Some use browsers whose origin might not be easily described. :D

Having said that, a healthy percentage of editors have Flash turned off. It is a personal decision.

Many editors also put cautionary notes in the description on sites that do use flash.

Draw your own conclusions.

Flash is no reason not to list a site, but it can delay its evaluation.

If a website takes a long time to load, it's not uncommon for an editor to leave it for somebody with a faster connection.
