There is no followup that is necessary or useful ... or possible.

If a suggested site is listed, EVERYONE sees it.

If a suggestion isn't useful, we don't berate the suggestor for wasting our time, we just let the whole matter drop.

As hutcheson said - and you could always set up a "google alert" to let you know if the site is listed...

Hello,

The only notification you receive is a confirmation screen after you complete the site suggestion process. You are not sent any kind of confirmation by email. :)

Did you read the FAQ here at R-Z and did you read the guidelines at DMOZ.

- submit a site only ONCE
- you will not receive any message about the site you have suggested, not when it is reviewed, not when it is listed and nor when it is rejected
- after a site is suggested an editor will review it, but when this will happen we don't know, it could be tomorrow or next month or it could be after several years

And placing a return link to dmoz, is neither required or expected for a listing.

Your question was answered the first several times you asked it here. The same answers still apply.

[NOTE: I've merged all of your thread together into one. ]

Presumably it either has been rejected or hasn't been reviewed yet. Since we do not give site suggestion status checks here, we can't tell you which is the case here but, if your site is listable according to our guidelines, the second one (that it just hasn't been reviewed yet) is most likely. It can take years for a suggested site to be reviewed.

We generally do not contact web site owners to let them know if their site was rejected.

We do not give site suggestion status checks so the only thing we can tell you is that the site will be reviewed eventually. By suggesting your site, you've really done all that you can do. Coming here to ask again every few months is not going to change that answer.

I am always trying to improve the quality of our .info website. It would be nice to get a thumbs up or down after its been reviewed. I don't want to ask the editor questions but just a simple status. I have tried my best to meet the quality standards of Dmoz but am only human. That way if we improve and and feel it is ready for resubmission we can resubmit it without worrying about overwrighting a previous submission.

A once a year thumbs up or down or in progress message would make me happy. While I have great listings in the SERPS, I am always looking at improving the quality of my site and DMOZ gives me a nice goal to work towards, but on the other hand I don't get obsessed about being listed.

Our site selection criterion are public, so you can see exactly what editors use judge sites. If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about DMOZ's standards, and instead design the site to meet the needs and desires of your visitors. If it's a site that's genuinely useful to people, and provides content that's not available elsewhere it's probably the sort of site we'd like to include in the directory.

Whether or not it does get included in any particular time frame though rather depends on the unpredictable nature of the efforts of our volunteer editors, and whether or not any of them decide to do some work in the category you suggested it to. Just because a site hasn't been added, don't immediately assume that it's been rejected.
