Forum Problem

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, and I apologize if it is not, but I have been trying to fix a problem I am having on this forum. I have tried filling out the feedback form 4 times in the past 3 months and have received no replies.

I have been a member here for several years but have not posted since 2003. I recently (in the past 3 months) tried logging in which appears to be successful, but I cannot post nor edit my profile. I keep getting an error telling me that my account has not been activated yet. I have tried resetting the password and having a new password sent to me via email, which does work, but still I am not able to post. I finally gave up and created a new username.

My old username was webdude, my new username is webdude2. Could somebody inform the appropriate parties on this problem. I would like to be able to use my old username again. The problem though is that I now have posts using both usernames. I am not sure if you can combine them but I would appreciate any help in this matter.

Thanks

Actually your WebDude account is still showing as being in the "Users Awaiting Email Confirmation" pile, and it was only created on May 21, 2004. I think what has happened here is that your original account was probably purged. We recently purged inactive accounts and yours was probably one of them. WebDude2 is the only account on here that you have any posts attached to. We can re-mail the activation e-mail for WebDude and you can activate that account and then we can merge the two accounts, but you will only have the 7 posts that you've made using the WebDude2 account. Is it really worth it now? You might as well just stick with the WebDude2 account.

That must have been me trying to open the account again. I guess I can use the webdude2 account, but I would prefer to use the webdude account. I am a member of many developer and other forums and I use webdude as my user name.

If it is not to much of a hassle, I would prefer to use the webdude account. Your call, I can live with the new account if I need to. Is there anything I need to do on this end?

Thanks for the reply, by the way...

I just sent you an e-mail. Your WebDude2 account has been renamed to WebDude. Hope that solves the problem :)
