The only thing you can do now is just wait it out and see what happens. We no longer do status checks on submissions. If there is anything else we can help you with, feel free to ask.

Suggestion: Stop bothering. The ODP is no listing service, but a directory accepting sugeestions by non-editors.

If you suggested a site, everything is done that could be done. Thanks for suggesting a site.

I have seen many responces like this and even though i understand many people will be asking the same things, i have tried to gain answers to questions via the normal route however i am still confused. And to be honest i found your responce rude! we all arent experts!

thanks again firestorm

Be aware that as this is the internet, and editors are spread all over the world, that the person writing to you may not have English as their first language, and so you might read an "attitude" into the message that simply did not exist for the writer.

That would be your error.

Whenever someone responds to you in what seems to you to be a rude way, you ought to consider carefully what you may have done that made that response seem appropriate.

You might consider whether it would be considered rude to ignore the proper netiquette for checking the "Frequently_Asked_Questions page before asking a question that "probably gets asked all the time".

And you might consider whether telling perfect strangers about your emotional problems, and alleging that they are somehow responsible for them, might make the most amiable and public-spirited of people a bit ... defensive.

If you learn to do this, you'll be much less likely both to cause and to take offense.

I did seek help in the FAQ and various other websites, as this is a forum i thought i might get some more help!

When did i tell anyone a personal problem?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe hutcheson was referring to this 'emotional' not 'personal' problem: [emphasis mine]

The category doesnt have anyone who submits and i even tried to apply, with no avail! how annoying is this!

Hundreds, if not thousands, of sites are suggested to ODP every day. Most of those submitters don't come into the fora and insist, however politely, that someone ease their annoyance or impatience.

As has been stated, repeatedly throughout this forum, once a suggestion is submitted, you have done all that you can do. Also mentioned more than once, the fact that a category doesn't have a listed editor, doesn't mean it isn't being edited.

Just a thought - if you applied to edit a category to ensure that your site got listed, I'm not terribly surprised that you experienced a problem.

All of this information is in the guidelines and FAQs. It took me a while to process all of it, too. But it is there. Trust me!

If you have not suggested the site since the beginning of 2007 you may do so.

We do not, and will not, give status checks.
