General question about submitting

I was wondering if there is any plan in the future to allow people to check the status of a submission without human interaction? I think it would lower the amount of people, like myself, that mistakingly resubmit their site when it doesn't appear in a given category. Also, it would be nice to know if it has been rejected all together. Thank you for your time.
