Hello,

For years I've had my - - - website, www.geocities.com/-/ hosted on Geocities. Since Yahoo took all Geocities pages down, I had to move all those pages to a new URL, www.-.com. What do I have to do for DMOZ to make the changes to their existing listing?

Thank you so much,

Dan Alvarez

Hand in an update request using the "Update URL" link at the top right of the category the site is listed in.

Changes are that the geocities site is already removed from public view in the directory.
When that has already happened an update request is not possible. You than can suggest the new url and mention in the description the url that it replaces.

pvgool, thank you.

This site used to be listed under www.dmoz.org/Business/Investing/Day_Trading/Education_and_Training/ in DMOZ and it still shows up when you search in DMOZ, but it has been removed from the category, as Yahoo has removed all GeoCities pages.

Here's the screenshot showing what comes up on the DMOZ search:

<URLs not welcomed here - not even in a screenshot>

Since the site was gone from the category, I had to suggest a "new" url - couldn't request an update.

Do I have to do anything else at this time?

No thank you. There's no need to do anything in the future either. Some editor will process your listing suggestion but we don't know who or when that might be.
