getHelp!! How to listed!

Hi, I have just got my website up and running, the only thing is each time, I search the Internet, I am not able to website listed amongst the first couple of pages. Can anyone advise me, I know that I have to pay for search engine optimization but would like to know if there are free ones ot there.

Sorry, but this forum is only about ODP. We can't answer questions about search engines, SEO and other topics like that. There are however a lot of great forums that can help you with that. Try searching Google for seo webmaster forums and try some of them :)

May I suggest the forums at www.webmasterworld.com . It is a great forum and you can find tons of stuff on what you are asking...I would help you with yoru problem...however as Bobrat said this is for ODP stuff only :rolleyes:

Forgive me if I wasen't suppose to suggest that lol.

Other forums that tackle some or all of these issues (and from different viewpoints) include jimworld, ihelpyouservices, cre8asite, and htmlforums.

"ODP" Stuff

what is ODP since I am new and thought that is why we came to this forum to find out why our websites will not post??? I cannot even figure how to submit a reply on this forum. I have never seen one that did not give me a blank page. I just added it to what was showing so if I failed another rule, please forgive me.

ODP is the Open Directory Project http://dmoz.org/. Information is at http://www.dmoz.org/about.html

This forum is a volunteer forum to help people who have suggest [or want to suggest] their site to ODP - also know as DMOZ.

We don't answer questions about other directories such as Yahoo, or directory.google.com or about search engines such as Google, AltaVista.

This is not the place to suggest your site. In order to do that you must go to http://www.dmoz.org/add.html

After you have done that, you can come back here and ask in Site Submission Status - http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showforum=22

But you must wait at least a month and strictly follow the guidelines - http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=396

If you wish to post in other than English - there are sections available for that.

Why would anybody pay for this, when there are hunderds of great similar forums out there!? :rolleyes:

There is a free membership over there which gives you access to most of the forums.

There is a whole forum for submission status requests (and it is not this one), and a neat thread in that forum that tells you exactly how to format the question and what information to put in it.
