Gettind Listed on Dmoz..

I have just joined this forum and this is my first post so I would like to say Hello to everyone here. I have read a lot about submitting sites and getting listed on Dmoz from different people but I would want to have first hand information from the editors as to what do they prefer? What is the criteria?

The criterion is simple: Unique content. Does the site tell the visitor something substantial which cannot be found in other sites? Imagine that you are a web surfer looking for information/services/products in the area where your site belongs. Would your site provide any of this?

You cannot suggest a site for review at the moment -- please see the Announcement at the top of each forum here. As soon as the announcement tells you the systems are back in place, you will be able to submit a site suggestion (please only suggest your site once, to the one most relevant category.) You can't use the resource-zone forums to suggest your site, and we also don't give status reports for suggested sites any longer.

and submitting to the correct category is helpful, but, no site has a right to be listed and no site is guaranteed a listing, .

I can not inter my page inthe directory

Hello,

I just subscribed to this forum, so i would like to say hello to all of you.

I am trying to insert my web ( <url deleted>) into the directory, but I always get a page where it says that the service is not disponible. Can anybody explain me why? Will it be disponible soon? I always go to the Visual Arts Category, and press suggest a site button, but always get the same message. Am I doing something wrong?

I have got a site that has 100% unqiue content on it. I can't say myself that the design and navigation of my site is extremely good. I will leave that on you so you may decide yourself.

What if you don't have any broken link and still you are not being accepted? What can be any other reason?

Perhaps, no editor has had the opportunity to review it yet, there are thousands of site suggestions.

What do I do then?

I can only answer that question related to DMOZ.
Did you suggest the site to what you think is the best category and did you provide a title and description that follow the guidlines?
If the answer is yes you have done all you can do. Someday an editor will review the site. Because of the way DMOZ works we can not predict when this will be.
Of course you can wait and check everyday if the site is listed but I think there are much more interesting and usefull things to do to make your site a succes.
