Getting a site relisted

A site I run, which has been listed in the ODP for years, was down for a few days last year because its hosting company went out of business without telling anyone and simply shut down their servers.

I noticed a few months after this happened that the listing had been removed from the directory. I didn't immediately attribute this to the site disappearing for a few days months earlier, so I filed an abuse report in the hope of finding out what was going on. An editor replied that the reason was that the directory had been unable to reach the server when it tried checking up on the site (just my luck that this had happened during that brief period), so it was not a matter of editor abuse.

I took this to mean that I didn't need to resubmit the site, since the directory would soon see that it was up and running and would relist it without a new submission, but that was months ago and nothing has changed.

Is there a policy regarding this? Would a listing that was dropped because a site was down be in some queue, waiting to be rechecked and subsequently relisted, or am I better off submitting it as if it were a new site?

Usually unreachable entries are moved back to unreviewed state by our bots, mostly with an additional "red" note stating it was unreachable. [Just as a sidenote: When ODP editors speak of "red entries" they usually mean those. Not red as in "bad" but as in "using a red colour to be highlighted in our system"].

If the incident is some time ago, it might make sense to resubmit once to the same category as it was listed in, just in case someone manually checked and removed the listing right after.
