A client of mine failed to pay his registrar for his domain name. Someone else bought for resell and he is unwilling to pay price asked. We purchased dot net version but did not have dot net page onlin before dot com version disappeared from index. I recenty resubmitted dot net version for indexing but wonder if there is speedier way to handle issue. Site is same, domain name different.

Thanks for your input.

Normally you would just use the "Update" link at the top of the category page to change the URL. If the site has disappeared from the category it may still be in unreviewed pending a double check by the editor and so would be updateable.

Hard to tell without knowing the URL and category.

Thanks, I was fearful of that. I saw that option before we had new domain name but by time new domain name was in place it had disappeared. It is unbelieveable to me that someone would be so negligent as to loose domain name.

Unfortunately it happens all the time. When sites go down, we keep track of them for a short while to see if we can track down a new location. You've done the most important thing by resubmitting - hopefully with the same title and description (which will save an editor work). You might consider resubmitting again to the exact same place, but this time append a note in the description explaining what happened - such as "[site was formerly xyz.com, but the domain expired and was snatched]". This will help the reviewing editor understand the history of the urls, and know that if something new appears at xyz.com, it's not the same old site.
