Getting section of site in DMOZ

Hi,

Part of our site, OrnamentShop, has a section dedicated for free Christmas eCards. We are already listed in DMOZ, but I just submitted our site to http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/E-mail/E-greetings/Occasions/Christmas/ and wondering what my chances of getting in are? Is this something that I should be able to get listed in.

Can't tell without reviewing the site - which we don't do here. You'll just have to wait and see .
(Listing deeplinks is unusual though.)

We won't review sites here so I can only give you a universal answer.
Normaly we will not list deeplinks and you are not allowed to suggest deeplinks at all.
I think your change of being listed with this deeplink is less than 1%.

If I were reviewing the site, I would start out with the inevitable assumption that the "free cards" were not unique content -- that they were all already available somewhere else on the web. And I'd check from that standpoint -- if I could verify that in a case or two, I'd not even mention free cards in the description, let alone consider for a separate listing. If there were actually cards nobody else had (I couldn't find them elsewhere, and in addition I did find some reason to believe they were unique -- then I'd probably mention them in the description.

The possibility that the collection was both unique and also large enough to be considered "extraordinary" content to fit the editors' policy for deeplinking circumstances is ... barely conceivable.

In any case, the submittal policies are clear enough. Submit the main site only.

Yes, and only once.

The free eCards we provide are unique to OrnamentShop. No one else on the web should have them unless they stole our images. It is a large part of our site so that's why I would like to have it listed. Through the whole site, the two things you can do are buy ornaments or send out free eCards.

So is it a no or possibility?

A possibility. If the designs are unique to your site - then your site is eligible for a review in the e-cards categories. Without actually reviewing your site though I can't say any more than that. I guess you'll just have to wait and see if it gets listed.
