I submitted my site details <url removed> about three months ago and can see from the various threads that are in this forum that I probably have a considerable time to go until I get it listed, particularly in view of the fact that there doesn't appear to be an editor for my chosen category.

Frustrating I agree but, that said, I have been quite appalled by the acrimonious and spurious accusations that have been directed at the editors generally and, in some cases, specifically. I am not trying to toady up to anyone, but surely these guys and gals cannot be editing categories if they are constantly feeling obliged to answer posts in order to justify their mere existence, let alone the voluntary job that they perform.

So come on everyone, let's have a bit more patience, a lot less conspiracy theory, and allow these people to do what they need to do. Maybe then they can catch up with any backlog instead of becoming dispirited with the incessant durge of vitriolic slime that oozes into their inboxes every day.

Even if there is no editor named for a category, there are a lot of editors who have access to it, and do edit there.

As editors receive editing permissions for higher or wider areas, they'll often resign from smaller categories because they still have access to it from the higher categories, they are just named at a higher level.

For instance, an editor who recieves editing permissions at the State level, can edit everything beneath him. That would include every Region, Metro, County, and City (locality) within the state, and every subcategory in each.

No category is ever truely editorless, and no category is ever "owned" by any one editor. Even when a category has a named editor, many other editors can and do edit there.

Thanks for that crowbar. It just goes to show that even a mildly innocent and non-gratuitous comment can be out of context if one doesn't have the right information to start with.

You're welcome. It isn't the type of information that you could know without somebody explaining it, :).
