Gobbledigook in listings?

My apologies if this has been mentioned somewhere already. I see that there is some gobbledigook in listings:

What causes this?

(Asking mostly out of curiosity while I'm waiting - just like everyone else - for the DMOZ upgrade to finish so I can submit my own site... Thumbs up to everyone )

Ouch, yes, I see it too - that's UGLY.

Thanks very much for bringing it to our attention - once the servers are up and running we'll check to see if that condition is still there - right now the contents of that server are frozen.

Hmmm, http://dmoz.org/Arts/Movies/Screenwriting/Script_Consulting/ looks perfectly fine to me. See http://motsa.com/script_consulting.jpg (screen shot taken just now).

This type of error seems to be present in several categories and, as Alucard said, someone will be looking into it when the upgrade is complete. In the meantime, if you find a category displaying an error like this, try reloading the page or viewing the page in a different browser. Some editors have observed that the pages sometimes display correctly (although that may take several reloads). The problem is also not present on the mirrors like http://ch.dmoz.org/

Seems to come and go, I looked at this post several hours ago, and it didn't make any sense as the page displayed correctly for me. Just went and looked again, and it's messed up right now.

I clicked the link, got a messed up page (screenshot), hit Reload and it was fine. Strange.

I think it's a fairly safe bet to say that the problems will most likely disappear once the upgrade is complete and the public pages are in sync with the editor side of things again.
