Google not showing descriptions

Does anyone know if google is moving away from using ODP descriptions since I have noticed that some sites included in DMOZ are not showing descritpions at google...

Anybody got any ideas why this would be?

If you mean website descriptions on SERP's, I seem to remember that individual webmasters can opt out of having these displayed.
