Google the Odd Man Out

I have recently changed the domain/URL for my new website www.earallergy.com and am at work correcting all of the various links out there so that I can finally get rid of the redirect page at my "old" site home.earthlink.net/~meear.

Interestingly, while it appears that DMOZ and the Open Directory Project are listing my new URL correctly, Google still lists the old, incorrect one here, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it changed.

Could I have some assistance? I'd be most grateful.

No, no assistance is possible. Google will update eventually. We have no control over when.

Sorry, we have no say over at Goggle. They use our data but when they choose to.

OK. As long as I understand how it works. So, there's no way to get in touch with Google and tell them to change it, eh? That's just how it is? E-mails to Google will be ignored?

You can talk to Google. But they know we've added 60,000 or so sites since their last update, and that hasn't moved them yet.

They deal with billions of pages. They try to establish procedures that will handle them without individual human tweaking. That's the basis of their entire business model. So ... what were you going to say to them?

I dunno, perhaps: "This link, located here, should be corrected to ... x." I guess it's too much to wish for.
