I applied with full confidence and interest to dmoz diabetes personal pages - this is the url ! http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Conditions_and_Diseases/Endocrine_Disorders/Pancreas/Diabetes/Personal_Pages/ , the reply came from them is an automated response ! The funniest thing is that i can find there are few of the site in this similar category which are not even worth 40 % to be in this category, I can find these things but unfortunately i was rejected! I am a medical junior doctor and came to know that dmoz is a human edited directory which made me think that this can be a real platform for me to help diabetics find good and reliable blogs !

please help me can solve this problem ! CANT I BE DMOZ EDITOR EVER? IS THIS THE REAL DMOZ (LARGEST HUMAN EDITED but AUTOMATED RESPONSE :( - sorry to react like this but i cant !

my details: Mike brains
username : diabeticshelper (with which i applied for dmoz)

regards
Mike brains

It was not an automated reply. All editor applications are evaluated and reviewed by a human. The reply you received included a list of the most common reasons why an application is rejected. If there were no additional comments at the end of the email, one or more of those reasons will have applied to your application, so read it through and for your next application keep those points in mind.

Unless you were asked not to apply again, you are more than welcome to re-apply. Many of our most productive editors had to apply more than once before they were accepted.

hi DMOZ admin !

after your reply "Unless you were asked not to apply again, you are more than welcome to re-apply. Many of our most productive editors had to apply more than once before they were accepted. ". I again re-applied for the dmoz editor in the diabetes - personal pages category - url is http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Conditions_and_Diseases/Endocrine_Disorders/Pancreas/Diabetes/Personal_Pages/ .....
But i waited more than the time taken taken by the first reply ... but no response :( ! please tell me what should i do even when i did the things according to the dmoz guideless carefully ! I AM DOING THIS WITH A INTEREST BUT THIS REALLY MAKING ME FEEL UPSET - am i unfit ?

see i found something wrong in this category as well - see this site listed in the diabetes personal pages category - http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Conditions_and_Diseases/Endocrine_Disorders/Pancreas/Diabetes/Personal_Pages/ this see this link - http://www.diabetes-wise.net/ anchor text is diabetes wise and the site is redirecting to another site - http://www.diabeticseniors.com/ .... is this allowed in dmoz or you think this is fair to include the site which are not related to this category or update the links regularly ? please explain is this category really need editor or not?

YOU MEAN we should apply till you accept ? that means if you keep on rejecting like that ? then ?
i already said that there are worthless sites and there is in need of a new editor for this - " see i found something wrong in this category as well - see this site listed in the diabetes personal pages category - http://www.dmoz.org/...Personal_Pages/ this see this link - diabetes-wise.net - anchor text is diabetes wise and the site is redirecting to another site - diabeticseniors.com is this allowed in dmoz or you think this is fair to include the site which are not related to this category or update the links regularly ? please explain is this category really need editor or not?
even then dmoz is not caring :( what is this ? explain!

There is no site called Diabetic Wise in http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Conditions_and_Diseases/Endocrine_Disorders/Pancreas/Diabetes/Personal_Pages/ so presumably someone has already taken care of the redirect. That kind of thing happens all the time and is nothing to get worked up about -- we just fix it when we find it and move on. If you find any more issues, please feel free to report them in the Report Hijacks, Dead Links, Inappropriate ODP Content, and other issues here ONLY thread in the Quality Control Feedback forum.

Whether or not there is a "need" for an editor in a category, prospective editors still need to go through the usual application review process. What we're looking for in an editor doesn't change just because a category hasn't been updated in awhile or isn't updated regularly.

I never said that. I said that all prospective editors have to go through the application process.

Due to maintenance we are not able to look at applications. And neither can new applications be made.

If you did not receive a message after the last attempt (it might have been lost in your mail) assume that reasons given in your previous attemt are still valid.
After the maintenance (expected to end this weekend) make a new application if you wish to try again.
Write a complete and honest application (as I said I can not look at your applications so do not know why you were rejected).
But if you ever have been an editor before do not write an application but ask for reinstatement.

More help cab be found in FAQ and General Advice

Sorry but we can not provide more help on applications. It is something you will have to do yourself, just like any job application.
