Were you able to see this information because you are an editor or is there some place that the average joe can see this information...

Only editors that can edit the category can see it.

Can I get another update for the www.GreekForMe.com site listing status. I have read that I should typically wait 4 weeks since the last time that I requested a submission status report. Is this too soon, too long, etc.

Any status on my site submission would be greatly appreciated.

Your last status reply was 05-05-2004. We used to ask for people to wait a month before making another request.

Forum rules now require a six month wait to ask for additional status information.

GreekForMe - Status Check

My first check was.... 1/23/2004... then checked routinely there after until I was told to wait six months... well I have done so... it has been six months and 1 week :)

Any status update would be greatly appreciated... but being actually being placed in the directory would be a great early Christmas gift!

Still Waiting review...

Considering there is not an editor in my category nor any response from the editor in the categories above mine ... is there any hope of every getting listed...

Just curious so I can set my expectations appropriately...

Or is there something that I can do to make my case...

I know I am one of the millions...

I wouldn't even bother with dmoz. They were great back in 97 and had a great start but it went down hill from there. The best you can do is to promote the site yourself. Go to the yahoo directory and look for search engines. Submit your site manually. Make your keywords match your site description & title and hope for the best. Make sure that your site has a link or button exchange. The more links from your site to others, the better. If you can, throw in a top list. Make the titles of your pages the title of what people would search for such as "American Home Made Recipes".

Sure there is. But unfortunately there's no specific timeframe for that.

I would rephrase that to say "don't worry about dmoz". Suggest your site (it's free, after all, and it only takes a couple of minutes so why not?) but then don't stress about when the site will be reviewed. Try Bonedust's suggestions for other promotional tactics.

BoneDust -- please stop posting in other people's threads like this, trying to stir up trouble.

Possibly a different location...

Since there is not an editor for my original catergory can I instead be asked to be placed in the appropriate regional directory?
