Some of the editors in here may remember me as I was quite active in both DMOZ and ChefMoz for some time before I was removed from DMOZ and quit ChefMoz. I remember my time there with a certain amount of fond memories and also a little frustration at times but have no ill feelings about anything that happened as I could easily have done things differently to arrive at a different result.
In fact, I was recently thinking about submitting a reactivation request but DMOZ was down at the time and the request never went through. After reading some of the posts from some of the "users" I'm actual happy it didn't. The one thing I don't miss is all the stress related to trying to explain to others why they can't have their way.
I will probably be happy just to come in from time to time and harass the non-editors from my peer position, since I could never do that as an editor, it would have been unprofessional. Or perhaps I won't, no sense making things harder on those who are "in the trenches" as it were.
Many things have happened to me since I was last active, none of which have any bearing on DMOZ but have a great bearing on how I view life. I hope everyone in here the very best, both as editors and in RL. Just remember, friends (RL and virtual) and family should come first. If you have any doubt about what you should do, ask yourself, "What is the right thing to do?" and you should be fine.
