Site was submitted two more times since august

True disgust after submitting my site three times in a ten month period the site was not listed

A good site got passed over and screwed over good, Thanks for all the negative help people.

I found out some people have taken it upon them selves to submit our site to Google as well numerous times under different key words as well.

I now have a list of the ips that submitted the site in question to Google as well, there ISPs have been contacted.

72 submissions in one month you must really think me stupid did you think I would not be contacted, by email concerning this search engine abuse.

Just how many other search engines have people submitted our site to?

How many more Search Engine abuse complaints am I going to get while I am offshore.

If you do join don't put your site in your profile or list your site in any of your messages.

Read between the lines, there are some good people involved in Dmoz just not as many any more.

It is easier to get a site about useless content added then it is to get a good site listed.

A warning I do know people out there with Search Engines, and they do give me information as to abuse towards our site.

Why don't you come clean with the truth, just what other things have been done to our site....

Don't play stupid I know for a fact most of you all email each other and have been reading the forums out there as well. You say you should not believe what I read! you make it real easy to believe.

And I really want to thank the person who took our DBA and created a web site then parked it on a porn site.

Nice one "car mall network" parked on "see me strip" that is really priceless

EV1 has been contacted, I will be calling the Houston Texas, Harris County Clerks office concerning this matter as well.

Any new update date is more than likely going to be the result of maintenance activity (e.g. cleaning up titles or descriptions, removing dead sites, etc.) than reviewing activity. I know that classic car classifieds is important to you but, unless an ODP editor finds the subject equally as interesting, it's likely to be a slow-growing category as are most, if not all, classifieds categories. No conspiracy. And nothing you can really do to expedite the process.

Deliberately suggesting it to the wrong category is not the way to accomplish that.

You're adding 2 and 2 and coming up with 560. ODP editors really have much better things to do than to spam the search engines just to mess with you. If someone did indeed do that to you, it would probably have been a competitor rather than ODP editors who, really, don't care that much about your site. So, I'm not sure why you're taking it out on us.

I did not say I would submit it to a wrong category just one up because my site better fits the one above even though you say the deepest.

I am drawing parallels to other website forum posts it seems pretty funny that something like this happens.

I went in to a rage sitting in my bunk off shore reading my email from the 'Sat' internet connection with no phone to call the abuse departments concerning these matters.

On top of that I found out while off shore I was banned from your forum for hijacking of which I do not feel I was doing, this was not my intent to hijack anything.

Now when I get back I find out that all this &^% has happened while I was gone.

There are only a few tings to do off shore, work - sleep - eat - write webs sites - read books - watch the same DVD over and over again and some times get on the internet.

Some might interpret that as "I am going to spam submit, hound editors and swamp this forum until my site is listed" - If that is the correct interpretation, then it's a sure way to get your sites banned forever.

I have not spamed anything and have no intentions of sending thousands of dollars into the trash can on this site.

I am sure that others have no problem of sending my site to the trash can or black listing it.

I have noticed that there are alot more non us editors then us editors

Kinda like the UAE running our USA Port Security Oh I am sorry about that the americans goto together and said no on that.

I have also noticed that sites posting there URLs here are selectively deleted.

co.uk sites remain in some threads and .coms and nets are removed

or is it who you know

so does this mean if I post my uk site it will remain as a link in my posts

US here, but that means absolutely nothing given the fact the directory is representative of the world and only a couple of handful of editors actually offer to in these forums so it is possible (although I have never checked, nor is it relevant really) that there may be more editors posting here that aren't from the US.

Signatures are not allowed in this forum except for editors, also the forums are not to be used for promoting a site through planting links. If there is a reason the url is necssary (beyond a status check or why a site isn't listed yet) then it can be left. That is up to the forum moderators and has nothing to do with who you know or don't.

I've never checked but why would that be wrong? The US is only one country on a very large planet, after all. While the ODP is based in the US, it is not intended to be a US-centric resource. As for the nationality of the editors posting here in this forum, very few editors actually state where they are located here so you'd have no reliable source of data from which to draw a conclusion.

Whether or not URLs are deleted in a post depends on the perceived intent of the URLs being posted in the first place and the moderator pruning the post -- some mods just disable the link, others delete the full URL. It's got nothing to do with the TLD of the domain.

If I may say, your continued not-so-subtle prejudice against non-US editors is both disturbing and disappointing.

then you need to go back thought some recent posts and remove the URLS posted by others as well, ref site placement, not listed and other questions concerning submissions.

Not prejudice

Just against the candian who registered our DBA as a domain name and parked it on the porn site.

I have now spent moeny today and changed our DBA and amending the bank accounts.

Since Tucows and EV1 said alls fair in the internet game!

Just keep in mind Re a reply from an editor long ago, Motsa I am not the one who made the coment concerning females taking over, I never showed prejudice towards any country, and have traveled to many.

I really believe someone has already taken it personal and banned the site.

I will get to the person behind the domain registration and search engine slaming done to our site.

I dont think I have to worry about spaming the search engine indexs as I have recieved yet another email concerning the submision of our site today and sent a reply to the search engine that no such submission was made!

That's great. It's completely unrelated to this forum, though, since it has nothing to do with the ODP.

This thread has long outgrown any purpose that it might have had so I'm closing it. timamie261, please refrain from posting additional complaints about the suggestion of your site or about anything not related specifically to the ODP.
