Has DMOZ received my url request?

I submitted my website about 6 months ago. I do not think I received an email from DMOZ stating they received my url request. Is there a way to find out if it has even been received and waiting to be looked at?

No there isn't. If you look at the top of this forum, you'll see the announcement that we no longer provide status checks here - which is what you're asking for.

We don't send out email confirmations -- neither when a site suggestion is reviewed nor when it is reviewed. However, the screen you see aver you hit the "submit" button tells you that your suggestion has been received.
