Have I submitted my site in the proper category?

Hello,

I have submitted a site into the /Sports/Soccer/News_and_Media/ category about two year ago and wasn't included yet, so just today I resubmitted it to the same category as it seems it's the most accurate category around there.

Thing is it looks to me that this category has no active editors, moreover when I tried applying as an editor (don't get me wrong, I am a webmaster at gnu.org and has been involved in so many open source projects) I got the error message "Editor application is disabled for this category.".

Am I missing something here?

Thanks,
Hossam

Processing of suggested websites can vary between a few days and several years.
The suggestion will either be listed, rejected or still waiting review.
In all of these 3 cases there is no need for a new suggestion.

moreover when I tried applying as an editor (don't get me wrong, I am a webmaster at gnu.org and has been involved in so many open source projects) I got the error message "Editor application is disabled for this category."
That category is much to big for a new editor. That is why editor applications are disabled. Please chose a smaller category. Normaly a category between 10 to 100 listed websites is the best choice.

If you have the same problem (which in fact is not a problem after all) than the same answer applies to you.

A site not being listed several years after it has been suggested is not a problem.
DMOZ does not promises to list every suggested website, neither does it promise to review suggested websites within a certain timeframe.
