I am trying to submit my website. I got an email that was titled

opendir - 4d023e25b6cbfe4d380191d851894b85

with the body of the email advising:
"INSTRUCTIONS - please read and follow carefully.
To complete your application process, please reply to this message.
This will confirm that we have your correct email address.
Do not change the Subject: line -- it contains your registration key."

When I hit "reply" I repeatedly get an error message saying,

"Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

It seems that rather than suggest your website for review, you applied to become an editor for the Open Directory Project. You don't need to be an editor to suggest your website for review. Use the "Suggest URL" link at the top of the category, rather than the "Become an editor" link.

That being said, there appears to be an intermittent problem with the apply@dmoz.org address ; sometimes it works, because we do get new applications coming in, but other people have reported the same problem you have. It has been reported to the tech people.

If you didn't actually mean to apply to become an editor, you can just ignore the email and not respond to it again, because the application won't come into the system until it has been successfully responded to.
