Perhaps I should have submitted to :
http://www.dmoz.com/Home/Consumer_Information/Home_and_Family/Furniture/

Will an erroneous category submission effect my chances of being listed?

As mentioned, I submitted the website on July 28. Thank you very much.

First of all in our fourm guidelines it is stated that you should wait atleast 1 month after your last submission before asking for a status.

If the reviewing editor also thinks the other category would be a better place for your site he will move it to that category. This will in no way effect your chance of being listed.
