Just noticed a site with four listings with ODP, two through google directory and two with ODP. Are these seperate listings then, I was under the impression you could only list one url once.

Google does whatever they want; we have no control over them.

Currently what they want is to copy our directory (which is fine with us, so long as their "Add URL" link points back to us.) So the two Google listings are really older versions of the two ODP listings -- and there are dozens of other sites that will show the same two listings because they also copy the Open Directory.

So DON'T submit to both Google and the ODP. Just submit to one of them -- it doesn't make any difference which one, all links go to the same place.

And read the submittal policies, which say to submit just once.

There are exceptions to that: EDITORS are allowed to give multiple links to the same site in "exceptional" cases. And there are even a few exceptions that we invite submitters to take advantage of.

But in the form in which your question is put: "A" website isn't offered FOUR (or even TWO) listings; in fact, the submittal policies clearly state that it is NOT even guaranteed ONE listing. Most submittals do NOT result in any listing at all. And submitters are NOT invited to submit every site four times, or even twice. The policies are very explicit: submit to the ONE most appropriate category.
