How about a notice on Search Engine status?

A front page notice that the search engine is not giving correct results would be useful to:

1) Inform me not to bother looking myself up.

2) Free up valuable editor time from answering a ton of "My site is not listed" posts.

Good idea!

Just a few minutes ago I requested this very thing on the Internal forum which staff read (staff would have to do this) - then I read this. Good suggestion!

We have been given an answer by staff that doing such a thing would be difficult to do.

Yes, I know, but it's apparently not very visible, considering how many questions we're getting.
