Not that it's important but I never ran into a problem where I coulnd't add it.

Custom Avatar

I do not see any option for adding a custom avatar in the "edit avatar" screen, even though I am an ODP editor. Can anybody help?

Yes, in this same forum there is a thread titled Member to Editor. You will need to request editor status in this thread before you will have the option to add an avatar.
