I submitted my five years ago to dmoz and of course it is still not listed yet :(. The problem is that I don't remember which category I submitted to. I know you guys say not to resubmit your website but since then my site has changed to a different service and therefore who have to placed in a different category, so it is possible that my submission has been rejected because it was submitted to the wrong category.

I have found a category that is perfect for my site, there are no listings and no editors, its a local category and the entire category has not been updated since 2007. I would love to apply as an editor for the category but I'm sure they would just reject me because I want to list my site. Which is true, I do want to list my site, but I can also add value to the project since I already know about quality submissions and what to look for in a good website. I own a local business directory as well as a respected general web directory.

So what should I do? I'm pretty sure the site was rejected for being submitted to the wrong category and I would like to correct that by resubmitting to the right one. But of course with no editors in that category I could be in for another 5 year wait.

Any ideas.

We don't decline listable websites for that reason, we move them.

However, most outstanding listing suggestions were lost in a system crash in late 2006. You're welcome to re-suggest your website now.
